One-on-One Photography Tutoring
Jeff Cowell
For more than 44 years I've been behind a camera. Through those years I've learned many things about achieving the results I desire in the finished photograph and many times learned it the hard way. After a long career as a software consultant I decided it was time to make photography my full-time vocation. To do this I immersed myself completely into the industry by taking positions in a Professional Photography Lab and in a Camera Store. Today I still work for the Photography Lab (Douglas Photographic Imaging) and have a studio in downtown Wichita. All of this contributes to my continuing education in this field that I love so much. This knowledge and experience is what I'll share with you through one-on-one tutoring.

Do you have New Lighting Equipment and you need to get up to speed on it? We can spend some time at the studio with your lighting system or in your own studio if you prefer and get you up and running and ready to take full advantage of your system. If you have a location shoot that you need to set up for we can get to the location early and set up your equipment to handle the shoot. We'll make sure everything is metered and set for you to make your shoot successful.

Do you Need Lighting Equipment and want to learn more about using it before you make a purchase? We'll get together at my studio using the lighting system there to give you some background on how studio lighting is used. If you'd like to bring someone to be your model we'll show you how to set up the lights with that model and do some shooting. This will give you some results that you can see before you decide what you want to buy in lighting equipment.

Maybe you just want to learn Basic Photography before getting any equipment. We'll arrange a time to get together. I'll bring a few cameras and other equipment and accessories. We'll talk about what you want to do with photography and discuss what type of equipment would be best for you to start with and what accessories you might need. We'll talk about how to get started with taking photos, how to compose a good photo and make sure you get what you intend to on film or digitally.

|
You've got your first S. L. R. or Digital Camera and you need to get comfortable with it. We'll get together and review the features and do what we need to for you to understand the operation of your camera and feel comfortable when you use it. If you'd like, we'll get together to do a 'start-up' session and show you how to use the basic features of your camera first. Then we'll arrange another session to take you into some of the more advanced features when you're ready for that.

Maybe you've got a Point and Shoot Camera, or basic Digital Camera and you just want to learn how to use it properly to take good photos of your kids or grandkids or anything else. Sure, it's a point and shoot, but that doesn't mean that it does everything for making great photos. We'll take your camera and approach some of the situations that you'll deal with when taking photos and show you how to best use your camera to get good photos. I'll show you some tricks that will help you get better quality photos than you might expect from your camera.

Any photographic situations that you would like to have some personal attention and tutoring in, we can work one-on-one or in the small group of your choice.

| Naturally these sessions are by appointment only and I'll do my best to make it fit your schedule and get things done when you need them done. So send me an email or give me a call and we'll set up your session. |
